Khachatryan, scheduled for August 25, has been postponed.
According to the court's office, the court hearings were postponed
until August 26 based on Gagik Khachatryan's statement.
It should be reminded that Karen Khachatryan, who previously held the
position of head of the internal security department of the KGD, is
accused of large-scale embezzlement, and Gagik Khachatryan is accused
of abuse of office and large-scale embezzlement. Both of them were
detained and then arrested at the end of August last year. According
to preliminary information, employees were registered in the KGD, who
were paid salaries, but who did not actually go to work.
Gagik Khachatryan was charged under clause 3 of part 2 of article 308
(abuse of office, entailing serious consequences by negligence),
clause 1 of part 3 of article 179 (embezzlement or embezzlement on an
especially large scale), clause 1 of part 3 of article 38-179, clause
2 part 4 of article 311 (bribe taking), point 1 of part 3 of article
38-190 and part 1 of article 314 (official forgery) of the RA
Criminal Code. Karen Khachatryan is charged under paragraph 1 of
part 3 of Article 179 (embezzlement or embezzlement on an especially
large scale) and part 1 of Article 314 (official forgery) of the RA
Criminal Code.
