ArmInfo. The General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Armenia is carrying out the process of personnel replenishment of the structural subdivision performing the
functions stipulated by the law "On the collection of property of
illegal origin".
According to the press service of the department, according to
today's orders of the Prosecutor General of Armenia Artur Davtyan,
Siro Amirkhanyan was appointed to the position of the head of the
department for the collection of illegal property of the General
Prosecutor's Office of Armenia, Tigran Yenokyan to the position of
deputy head of the department, Ani Sargsyan and Gevorg Kocharyan to
the positions of senior prosecutors and Tigran Davtyan was appointed
to the post of prosecutor of the department. Earlier, by the order of
the Prosecutor General of Armenia dated September 1, Srbuhi Galyan
was appointed to the post of his deputy, coordinating the scope of
functions for the collection of illegal property.
Article 4-33 of the Law "On Recovery of Property of Illegal Origin",
which establishes the relevant basic legal processes and functions,
comes into force from the date of appointment of at least three
prosecutors of the first composition of the responsible subdivision
of the RA General Prosecutor's Office. Considering that five
prosecutors of the responsible administration have already been
appointed, the unit is considered to be established, and the
above-mentioned law, in fact, fully enters into force.
In this regard, General Prosecutor of Armenia Artur Davtyan held a
working meeting on September 3 with the participation of his deputy,
who coordinates the sector of functions for the collection of illegal
property, and the newly appointed prosecutors of the newly
established department. According to him, the created subdivision
will carry out functions that imply work of character and scope that
have no precedent in the Republic of Armenia, which requires greater
responsibility, high professionalism, conscientiousness, dedication
to the mission and firm, teamwork.
Artur Davtyan added that the public demands from the new subdivision
created to carry out these functions, as well as from the
prosecutor's office as a whole, are great, and all resources must be
invested in the manner prescribed by law, in the presence of
extremely necessary grounds for returning property of illegitimate
origin to the state. Thus, it will contribute to the restoration of
social justice and ensure the productivity of the ongoing
anti-corruption struggle. It was noted that absolute impartiality,
adherence to principles and determination to be guided solely by the
letter of the law are required from this department, as well as from
all prosecutors representing it.
During the meeting, issues related to the establishment of clear
criteria for investigations to recover illegal property, systematized
and schematic provision of information on criminal cases and
materials containing statutory grounds for starting to study the
issue of confiscation of illegal property to the management from
other divisions of the prosecutor's office were discussed.
